Personal data that we process
PetBase processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself. Below you will find an overview of the personal data we process:
- First and last name
- Address data
- Phone number
- Email address
- IP-address
- Other personal data that you actively provide, for example by creating a profile on this website, in correspondence and by telephone
- Internet browser and device type
- Bank account number
Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors who are under 16 years of age, unless they have parental or guardian consent. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is over 16 years old. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children's online activities, in order to avoid collecting data on children without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without such consent, please contact us. We will then remove this information.
For what purpose and on what basis we process personal data
PetBase processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- Handling your payment
- Sending our newsletter and/or advertising brochure
- Calling or emailing you if necessary to perform our services
- Informing you of changes to our services and products
- Allowing you to create an account
- To deliver goods and services to you
- To perform the find and recover function of missing animals
Automated decision making
PetBase does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for people.
How long we keep personal data
PetBase stores your personal data no longer than strictly necessary to realise the purposes for which your data are collected. We use the following retention periods for the following (categories of) personal data:
- Name + address + phone numbers and e-mail address for returning your lost pet
- Google Analytics* for analysis website visitors > 26 months
- Kiyoh for customer reviews > 3 months
- Zoho* for customer support and mailings
- Zoho pagecense for website visitor analysis > 12 months
*IP numbers are stored anonymously
Sharing personal data with third parties
PetBase only discloses to third parties and only when necessary to fulfil our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.
Cookies, or similar techniques, that we use
PetBase only uses Functional, analytical and marketing cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone the first time you visit this website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical functioning of the website and your ease of use, such as remembering your preferences. They also allow us to optimise our website. If you wish to opt out of cookies, you can set your internet browser to stop storing cookies, and you can also delete all previously stored information via your browser's settings.
View, modify or delete data
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can do this yourself via the personal settings of your account. You also have the right to withdraw your possible consent to data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by our company, and you have the right to data portability. This means you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold on you in a computer file to you or another organisation named by you. If you wish to exercise your right to object and/or right to data portability, or if you have other questions/comments about data processing, please send a specified request to privacy@petbase.eu. To make sure that the request for inspection is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identity document with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but in any case within four weeks. We would also like to inform you that you have the option of submitting a complaint to the national supervisory authority, the Personal Data Authority. How we protect personal data
PetBase takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to counter abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of misuse, please contact our customer service or at privacy@petbase.nl.
